LEARN ONLINE WITH CATALYST YEAR 1 TUTORIAL
The University of Lagos(Unilag) recently closed its doors due to the Nigerian University Games Association (NUGA) Games. An annual sporting event. Hence, Students may be experiencing whiplash from the switch from physical to online classes, but you need not worry. Catalyst is here to help you out.
- You can choose your Class time.
The online platform we are using allows you to have TIMELESS access to lectures and lecture materials. Classes hold between 10:00 am – 2:00 pm. This means you can come on the platform to access lessons. You won’t miss classes even. - No Clashing
Our students should not miss any minute of their physical school classes because of tutorial classes. School lecturers set examination questions, NOT tutors, and tutors compliment lecturers and not substitute. - Freedom to ask Questions
Statistics have revealed that Glossophobia (fear of speaking in public) is why 34.6% of students FAIL in school. That speech anxiety or fear of raising hands, standing up, and asking questions is taken away as class is online. You can snap your questions and post or send a Voice Note (VN).
Catalyst, we aim to equip students with the necessary tools to excel academically by using modern learning techniques to better prepare our students for academic challenges.
Furthermore, these are tips for undergraduate students to ensure they learn online:
- Make a Plan: As a student, you may have materials and videos to consume over a while. Developing a strategy is the first step to avoiding squandering time. How much material do I need to cover in a week? How many hours each day can I devote? What aids with my concentration?
- Create a Schedule and stick to it: Specific time must be set aside for reading, making notes, or digesting any relevant academic media.
- Create a Designated Reading Space: Set up a specified amount of time to read and nothing else. Only a table and a chair are required, and the only activity authorized in the reading area is reading.
- Avoid Multitasking: Avoid using your phone or handling chores when it is time to be productive. All other activities can come later. Keep your study time sacred. You can always amend your schedule to make time for different events.
- Take Breaks: This is an essential tip. Take time off, go for a walk or connect with friends and family. It is normal to get exhausted or bored after studying, so take time off to recharge yourself physically and mentally.
